Próximo Oriente #1 Macau Glória

"Próximo Oriente" is a show on Rádio Macau about what "Asia" or "oriental" convey in musical terms. It consists on weekly expeditions in search of the Oriente, an image constructed and fantasised through sound. We will be wandering across different soundscapes and exoticisms, under the spell of music from far away places.

The first episode is dedicated to Macau, the territory that colonial Portugal recreated as a mythological symbol of an imperial and imaginary national identity, and also as a place constantly going through profound changes that still keeps its unique ways of life unscathed -- at least to the most attentive eyea. And ears.
